Well, there was this Gentleman, a Pilot called Singh, who decided to fly from Britain to India. Why? Because Aga Khan trophy was announced then in 1930 with a cash prize!!!

The condition was to fly solo in stipulated time from Britain to India or vice versa in less than 30 days.

He tried twice. But each time he failed as he lost over the continent. Seeing this, a British newspaper tersely reported, ‘Mr Singh has named his plane as “Miss India”-and he is likely to…’

The full name of this adventurous Pilot was Manmohan Singh!
